Saint Louis University Hospital offers a comprehensive BMT program aimed at long term remission or the cure of the patient’s disease.  The BMT program provides an elevated standard of care that involves expert medical staff support, patient education and state of the art technology.  Started in 1990, Saint Louis University Hospital in conjunction with SLUCare physicians, have performed hundreds of blood and marrow transplants in patients from the United States, Canada and South America.

Saint Louis University Hospital with SLUCare physicians performs BMT’s for the following diagnoses:

  • AML, ALL, CML and CLL; MDS; Myelofibrosis and myeloproliferative disorders
  • Multiple myeloma / amyloidosis, Severe aplastic anemia
  • Hodgkinds disease, NHL
  • Testicular
  • Renal cell, selected brain tumors and sarcomas  

Autologous, allogeneic and syngeneic transplants are offered at Saint Louis University Hospital.  

Types of allogeneic BMT’s offered are:

  • Related: HLA (human leukocyte antigen) matched and mismatched
  • Unrelated: HLA matched and mismatched
  • Umbilical Cord Blood:
    • Single and double,
    • HLA matched and mismatched
  • Haploidentical  

Preparative Regimens offered are:

  • Myeloablative
  • Nonmyeloablative
  • Reduced intensity
