The MidAmerica Stroke Network presents Brain School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 25, 2010 at City Museum. School yourself in stroke prevention! In one day, you will learn how to nurture a healthy brain and understand strategies to prevent stroke.
The Mega Brain will be making its St. Louis debut at Brain School! Step inside a replica of the central nervous system’s most critical organ to learn about various structures of the brain, brain trauma and disease and normal brain function.
Throughout the day, leaders in stroke care will share information during a Q&A style speaker series about how to maintain a healthy brain. This is information that stroke survivors and caregivers don’t want to miss!
Speaker Series Schedule:
10 a.m. Acute Stroke: What are your Options?
11 a.m. Working through Depression after Stroke and Strengthening Cognitive Function
noon Break for lunch! A snack bar is located on the same floor.
1 p.m. Stroke and Rehab: Strategies for Continuing Rehab at Home
2 p.m. Managing your Risk for Stroke through Diet and Exercise with your Primary Care Physician
3 p.m. Knowing your Numbers to Prevent a Stroke: Managing Cholesterol and Blood Pressure
FREE blood pressure, cholesterol and stroke risk screenings will be onsite and available to those 21 years of age and older. Graduate from Brain School knowing your numbers so that you can put your newly gained knowledge to work!
Free general admission to the City Museum for Brain School is provided for the first 500 people that register. Register for Brain School now!
