SLUCare specialists at Saint Louis University Hospital are trained to serve the needs of adults experiencing emotional or mental disorders. Services are provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis through the hospital’s:

  • Adult Inpatient Treatment Program, which offers patients a respite from overwhelming environmental stresses and allows professional staff to further evaluate and intensively treat 
    disorders in an  inpatient setting.
  • Geriatric Psychiatry, providing a 10-bed acute inpatient diagnostic and treatment unit and partial hospitalization day program for older adults facing problems unique to their age group.

Clinical Trials Unit
The Clinical Trials Unit provides high-quality services to facilitate the completion of various phases of clinical research. The Department of Psychiatry has conducted clinical trials in:

  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Panic disorder
  • Schizophrenia
