Bryan Pilat … Storeroom Gazelle January Employee of the Month
Bryan Pilat, Distribution Clerk since December 2004, has been chosen as Employee of the Month for January. Bryan, also known as “the Gazelle,” was given the nickname because of the speed and grace by which he does his job. With a pleasant disposition, Bryan receives the orders, packs and delivers with lightning speed. Although he processes orders quickly, he also meticulously checks each one, confirming for accuracy. He takes the time to call and verify quantities if he has concerns or if something appears unusual. His customer service skills are excellent and although it is a hectic work environment, Bryan is calm and focused in all he does. He ensures that he saves the hospital resources by making certain his orders are correct and confirming with others throughout the process. Please thank Bryan for his continued diligence and service to the hospital. His hard work and dedication make it look effortless but he adds so much to our work environment.
Carol Bock … Jill of All Trades Employee of the Month for December
Carol Bock, Patient Care Partner for Ambulatory Care, has been chosen as December’s Employee of the Month. Carol’s selfless dedication is evident in her willingness to do many different tasks without complaining. She is a “jill of all trades” and helps her coworkers by sharing her talents and jumping in when anyone needs help. Carol often supports others with solving computer issues, calculating inventory assessments and transferring patients. She also stays late or arrives early when her coworkers need time off for personal reasons. Her careful attention to expenses is evident when she remains flexible with her schedule, taking low census days when requested. She also assists with the biannual inventory count, without complaining. Carol is a very caring person who is sincerely thoughtful, taking watchful care of the underdog. She makes certain the patients are receiving excellent care and taking the time to eat. She also helps patients during discharges and transports. Carol has frequently given her Schnuck’s Christmas gift card to patients because she thinks they need it more than she does. Carol’s top priority is providing outstanding care to all the patients and she extends herself beyond her job because of her own kindness. Please extend your appreciation and support to Carol for all that she does to make SLU Hospital a success.
