House Saint Louis University Hospital’s Auxiliary Hospitality House provides a “home away from home” for families and eligible patients who are in need of safe, quiet, affordable lodging. The house is located one block north of the hospital. A total of 24 rooms are available for guests – 18 queen rooms (2 queen beds), four twin rooms (2 twin beds), one 2-room suite and one single twin room. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, television with basic cable and a private telephone line connected to the hospital switchboard. A smoke-free environment is maintained and enforced.  

Guest Eligibility

Guests are limited to families of out-of-town inpatients, pre- and post-hospitalized patients and outpatients. If patient or guest’s condition warrants, there must be a competent adult in attendance. A shuttle service is provided week days for patients only. Ask house staff for details. Children under 14 are not allowed to stay at the house. Medical treatment and/or services are not permitted in the house.  

Reservations

Advance reservations cannot be accepted. Room availability is based on daily turnover. To inquire about a room, call the Hospitality House on the day of your arrival at 314-268-5350 weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Evening check-ins:         Arranged before 3:30 p.m.

On weekends:                  Call between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.  

Escorts

The SLU Hospital Protective Services Department provides escorts to walk guests between the hospital and the Hospitality House during the evening and night-time hours.  

Parking

The SLU Hospital Auxiliary Hospitality House provides eight free parking spaces for guests on a first come, first-served basis. Seven of the parking spaces are for general use. One is reserved for handicapped. Alternate parking is available for a fee in the hospital garage.
