About Saint Louis University Hospital

Saint Louis University Hospital has been the teaching hospital of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine for more than 80 years. The hospital is exclusively staffed by SLUCare physicians, and its residency programs train the next generation of doctors while patients get the benefit of academic medicine.

In September 2020 the hospital moved into a new $550 million campus at 1201 S. Grand Blvd in Midtown St. Louis. The nine story patient tower holds 316 private rooms, joined to a three story ambulatory care center by a shared concourse with a cafeteria and other amenities.

24 Hour Emergency Room

The emergency department is open around the clock on the north side of the hospital. Use the LaSalle Street entrance.

Cafeteria & Starbucks

The concourse between the tower and ambulatory center has a cafeteria with a Starbucks for patients and visitors.

Spiritual Care

Chaplains and spiritual care services are available to patients and families of all faiths during a hospital stay.

Parking & Valet

Accessible parking is available on campus, with valet service at the main entrance for patients and visitors.

Gift Shop

A gift shop near the main lobby carries flowers, cards and small gifts for patients on the floors above.

Behavioral Health Urgent Care

Walk in behavioral health urgent care offers same day help for mental health needs short of an emergency.
