Care for short stay (generally 1-24 hours) patients in a new 16-Bed
Unit in the West Pavilion. Patient population will be primarily
outpatients requiring short term or overnight monitoring post
procedure. The unit will be open Monday-Friday, 24 hours a day. Unit
may be closed in time of low census. Flexibility is required.
Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
Carries out the patients plan of care as it relates to the
patient`s physical needs under the direction of the RN. Communicates
effectively on behalf of patient`s and/or unit concerns to the
appropriate personnel. Recognizes needs and initiates appropriate
action in regard to maintaining supplies and equipment. Performs
clerical and patient observation duties necessary for the function
of the unit.

Requirements:
Completion of nursing assistants course or enrollment in School of
Nursing preferred. One year of unit secretarial experience in a
hospital preferred. Completion of Medical Terminology course
preferred. |

High School graduate or GED equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
Post High School/specialized training preferred. |
