Position Summary: Responsible for registering all patients who enter the facility as Inpatient or in various Outpatient capacities in a timely and efficient manner. A 90% Quality Standard of Registration must be adhered to. Position Accountabilities and Performance Criteria Essential Functions: The following are essential job accountabilities and performance criteria: 1) Maintains positive, upbeat attitude and respect for customers and co-workers. (1,2,3,4,5) 2) Communicates professionally with customers, co-workers, and management. Listens and responds to customer needs. Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette. Discusses work related issues of concern with supervisor. Upholds patient rights, protects patients dignity, shows concern, compassion, and respect. (1,2,3,4,5) 3) Interviews patient/family to obtain the necessary demographic information necessary to complete the registration process. (1,2,3,4,5) Criteria A) Obtains complete information B) Demonstrates a friendly and service oriented presence when speaking to patients/ family 4) Reviews and verifies insurance benefit information for completeness and accuracy. Verifies insurance authorization requirement if needed. (1,2,3,4,5) Criteria A) Identifies, comprehends, and keeps updated on various insurance requirements 5) Supportive and participates in the Hospitals Up-Front Cash collection initiative in order to meet pre-set goals. (1,2,3,4,5) 6) Safety/Infection Control: Practices according to safety and infection control policies.
