March 20, 2014, ST. LOUIS — Join Saint Louis University Hospital as we help the American Heart Association (AHA) raise dollars and awareness in the fight against heart disease May 10 at Busch Stadium for the 2014 Metro St. Louis Heart Walk.
SLU Hospital president Phil Sowa is chair of the event and we want to make this walk the biggest yet in helping the AHA reach their goal of raising $1.65 million for heart disease research and prevention.
Everything helps. As SLUCare physician Michael Lim, MD, co-director of the Center for Comprehensive Cardiovascular Care (C4) at SLU Hospital and a board member of the American Heart Association told KMOX Radio last year in an interview from the walk, “Heart disease still is unfortunately the number #1 killer of people in this country and the St. Louis region.”
