Psychiatry

SLUCare specialists at Saint Louis University Hospital are trained to serve the needs of adults experiencing emotional or mental disorders. Services are provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis through the hospitals:
 - Adult Inpatient Treatment Program, which offers patients a respite
   from overwhelming environmental stresses and allows
   professional staff to further evaluate and intensively treat
   disorders in an  inpatient setting.
 - Partial Hospitalization Program, providing up to five days a week of
   intensive day programming for patients requiring more intensive
   care than found in an outpatient setting.
 - Geriatric Psychiatry, providing a 10-bed acute inpatient diagnostic
   and treatment unit and partial hospitalization day program for older
   adults facing problems unique to their age group.

Clinical Trials Unit
The Clinical Trials Unit provides high-quality services to facilitate the completion of various phases of clinical research. The Department of Psychiatry has conducted clinical trials in: - Mood disorders
 - Alzheimer's disease
 - Panic disorder
 - Schizophrenia
 - Social phobia
 - Anxiety disorders
