Staffers on 8ICU were recognized with gift cards for establishing a Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) team that reduced their central venous catheter (CVC) infection rate to zero for the past 15 months.
According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, a CUSP team is:
“… a structured strategic framework for safety improvement that integrates communication, teamwork, and leadership to create and support a culture of patient safety that can prevent harms.”
