March 20, 2015, ST. LOUIS – Family members of SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital patients have more comfortable surroundings, thanks to the generosity of Tiffany Greenwood, who pledged funding to the SLU Hospital Auxiliary to create new long-term wait amenities for the families of surgical patients.
"I want to help other families who are going through what can be a stressful event," says Greenwood. "By making the waiting time for families with loved ones in long surgical procedures more comfortable, I want to make the overall experience easier for those going through it."
Greenwood's donation created the Greenwood Surgical Lounge on the hospital's sixth floor with recliners, sofas, computers and a system to notify family members of their loved one's progress in surgery. Guest can nap, charge their mobile devices, and relax all within a five minute walk of the OR waiting room.
