March 2, 2015, ST. LOUIS - Four recent studies recently showed a new technology to treat stroke — a retrievable stent that physically removes clots from the brain - offers great promise for patients with larger strokes.

Using the stent, SLUCare interventional neurologist Randall Edgell, MD, and his team at Saint Louis University Hospital are able to physically remove a blood clot from the brain.

For more, watch the above interview with Dr. Edgell and KSDK's Kay Quinn about the stents. And for more about stroke, visit midamericastrokenetwork.com.

If this is a medical emergency, call 911 right away.
