March 19, 2015, ST. LOUIS -Nurses who’ve gone above and beyond to earn advanced nursing education were recognized as SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital celebrated Certified Nurses Day with a breakfast and awards ceremony this morning.
According to the American Nurses Credentialing Center, “Certified Nurses Day honors nurses worldwide who contribute to better patient outcomes through national board certification in their specialty. While a registered nurse (RN) license allows nurses to practice, certification affirms advanced knowledge, skill, and practice to meet the challenges of modern nursing.”
