To say that Dr. Hayat is a devoted member of the Saint Louis University and SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital staff would be an understatement.
Her nearly 28 of service, countless awards and recognitions and level of esteem she holds among her colleagues sets her apart as a thoughtful leader. In 2013 she was given a Saint Louis University Hospital “Caring Physician Award,” which is especially meaningful as she was nominated by her colleagues for her tireless devotion to her patients and their loved ones.
How does Dr. Hayat continue her work and find it rewarding after so many years of service? “That’s easy,” says Hayat. “It clicked from day one. I felt as though I belonged here and I continue to feel that way.”
Dr. Hayat is regarded as someone who has a calming presence within what can be a sometimes chaotic environment. She is known for meeting complex challenges with not only medical acumen, but also a real understanding of mind-body-spirit patient care and healing.
She plans to continue her work for many more years. “The people here are supportive. There is a teamwork spirit that is real when it comes to caring for our patients and each other.”
