Flanders says what makes SLU Hospital special is its mission. “We are uniquely known to many as a medical epicenter for the critically ill and we are driven to improve health in our community,” she says.
As Hospital Liaison, Flanders is in the community helping those who refer patients to SLU Hospital and in turn guiding patients in need of specialized care only available here.
“I have the honor of not only being trusted to give advice, but to help others through difficult illnesses,” she says. “When I am in the community on behalf of the hospital, I fully realize that I am acting on behalf of someone who really needs me to work on their behalf. This is where it all becomes personal.
