While Allen has not had a clinical role in his 12 years at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, he feels great satisfaction in helping the families and patients that we serve.

“In a non-clinical way, my roles have allowed me to be an advocate for those patients,” says Allen. “I don’t know that there could be any greater reward.”

He says SLU Hospital is special for its history.

“A lot of great things have come from within these walls and a lot of great people have worked within these walls,” says Allen. “I’ve always admired the physical appearance of this historic building – perched high on a hill overlooking St. Louis – a beacon not only in the physical sense, but also in the metaphoric sense by providing hope, caring and compassion to the community.”
