The Saint Louis University Cancer Center is seeking volunteers to be part of its team at the annual Komen Race for the Cure Saturday, June 16.
Team members may sign up for the competitive 5K run, the non-competitive 5K run/walk, the fun walk, or Sleep in for a Cure for those who want to support the event but can’t attend. All Saint Louis University Cancer Center team members will receive a special t-shirt to wear the day of the race (you must register online by Friday, May 18 to receive a cancer center T-shirt).
To become a member of the Cancer Center team, use team number 3801 when registering: online at www.komenstlouis.org by May 29 by mail by downloading the entry form from www.komenstlouis.org and postmarking before May 21 Last year the Komen Race for the Cure raised nearly $2.4 million, with 75 percent of the money staying in metro St. Louis to fund education, screening and treatment programs.
The remaining 25 percent of proceeds support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation’s National Grant Program for breast cancer research.
